Spicy basil squid

Ingredients

Basil paste

  • 1 cup basil leaves
  • 1 hot green pepper
  • 1 Garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup water

Gravy

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 Thai red chilli
  • Salt and pepper

Steps

  • With the help of a grinder make a fine paste of all the ingredients required for basil paste.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and add garlic and Thai red chillies. Saute them for a bit.
  • Then add the squid and lightly saute. You don't want the squid to brown.
  • Now add the basil paste to the sqiud mixture in the pan and mix well.
  • At this step add salt and pepper according to taste.
  • Cover and cook for 10-15 min until basil is cooked and all the flavours are combined.
  • At this moment you can either reduce it to have a thick sauce or add some water to achieve your desired consistency.
  • This dish is best served with warm rice. You can garnish it with some Thai red chillies.
